These posts are directed toward providing knowledge and solutions for the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic all of us face.
At the time of this first writing, March 24, 2020, the virus was nearing 400,000 detectable cases worldwide and nearly 20,000 deaths. Nearly two years later, on January 1, 2022, there are 650 times as many cases and the infection rates continue to ebb and flow.
With all the mitigation efforts of masking and social distancing, and the onslaught of testing and vaccines nothing has really changed. I have much disappointment in the decision makers that have brought us to this place, a place I believe we will be in for quite some time.
The pandemic of 1918 infected one-third of the world’s population. It would take over two years to burn through hosts, simmer out and morph into what we know today as the flu.
Our population today is nearly 5 times that of the population in 1918. In my opinion, if we continue down the path we have decided to go, the ebb and flow will continue through this decade before letting up.
