According to the Centers for Disease Control, the vaccine will help you from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID-19. You can still get COVID-19 and you can still spread it. The vaccine is not an end all to the pandemic. It does not prevent the spread and the potential to get COVID-19 still exists as long as someone is infected with it. Masks, social distancing and all that hand washing will still be required until the virus is eliminated from society the way SARS was.
