I woke this morning and saw this tweet from Greta Thunberg. I was skeptical at first, because the money flooding into the economy from fossil fuel companies is beyond staggering and The Guardian news organization is no stranger to needing money to stay in business.
This commitment to ban fossil fuel ads is monumental and a huge change in the right direction in an effort to solving the climate crisis. The decision will be difficult for The Guardian, but this step is a leap toward bringing other news companies on board .
I am encouraged.
