by In All Our Years
As humans in a physical form,
we are so controlled by the physical aspects of desire and require.
There is contentment in the moments,
the desire to explore the world we are in
and see what is here and what could be.
Simple desires, blurred by physical needs.
Food and shelter, warmth and rest, to be held by another.
And why is it that holding another, a simple hug is such a physical need?
The physical touch so simple, sometimes sexual,
but in the truth of the moment,
the embrace yearns for what is beyond the skin,
for what’s inside, what is in the heart,
for souls to connect and explore,
to share what is,
what was and what could be.
